New Jersey house legend Harry Romero returns with a two-track release on DFTD, bursting with Latin flavour. Following the release of his highly anticipated Defected House Masters compilation at the start of 2023, Romero has continued to develop his driving sound with a number of original releases, including his remix of Roach Motel’s ’94 underground staple ‘Wild Luv’ on Faith. Now returning to DFTD with a bang, the explosion of energy felt in ‘Liquid Samba’ is impressive; chugging rhythms and an insistent vocal call mixes with melodic percussion, effortlessly evoking the sound of the jungle. Similarly, spoken word sections are used to detail ‘The Journey’, building a tropical world using only audio.
