Stripped Down regulars APNOEA are back with another of their immersive techno packages, this time with remixes from Robert Babicz and Quenum.

It's a year since this German duo last landed here and since then the pair has continued to explore their own melodic take on house and techno. In just a couple of years since their collaborative debut on Mobilee in 2021, they have risen to the top with music on this label and thrilling DJ sets at top European venues.

The excellent 'Inability' opens this EP in an electrifying fashion with frosted basslines and tough breakbeats. The punchy drums make for a physical and raw groove that is embellished with big percussion and freaky vocals that keep you on your toes. The APNOEA Alternate Version is more stripped back and moody, with smeared synths and slow-burning tension while the spoken word vocal brings some menace.

'Feel' is a sleazy house cut with gritty bass guitar riffs and mid-tempo drums rolling deep. Silvery synth lens and clattering hits bring the cut to life as the loopy vocals provide a hook. Long-time underground stalwart Robert Babicz has always been an authentic innovator across hundreds of releases on labels like Bedrock, Intec and his own imprint, Babiczstyle. His fantastic take on 'Feel' is raw and raucous, with slapping hits and low-slung bass making for a rugged rhythm.

Lastly, Quenum steps up to remix Inability. He started in the scene in the 90s and famously started the Cadenza label with Luciano while releasing on Cocoon, Get Physical and many more vital outlets. His rework of 'Inability' is intense and sweaty, the quickened drums and sheet metal synths all stacked up closely with a detached vocal bringing an alien atmosphere.

This is a richly atmospheric EP full of all-new house and techno fusions.
