In Greyscale's quest to keep their listeners alerted to some of the strongest new artists to the scene, we present linger. An unknown and shadowy figure to emerge on the stage, if 'Valor EP' is any sign of more things to come, then you will need to keep an eye and an ear out for this talented sonic painter. '#004' is a conscious example at deep, languid and meditative dub techno that is emotionally healing as well as mind altering. '#005' extends a similar vibe while adding a more pronounced beat to the foreground. Sustained tones consistently pulsing while never fully resolving gives the listener a feeling of tension to the program. When the direction becomes concerning, a distant light shimmer in a house chord that plays in the background, balancing it all out perfectly. This track is almost like a test to your comprehension of the style.
A challenging but a very enjoyable listen still. '#006' is a dramatic but a reserved stunner that is almost orchestral in its movement. An early favorite that we know will be a landmark track for this artist as more hear it. '#007' is like a sunny day on the beach watching the sailboats go by. A relaxing laid-back soother that has you forgetting any worries you have in your life. Lastly, '#008' ends the EP on a smoothed-out house style that has us reminiscent about the old Cologne dub techno days. Mood Series #108 is jam packed with terrific dub moments. 5 tracks that feed off human emotions but each take you to a faraway place. The Valor EP is available only on digital.
