Destination Two EP

Beatz To Play

Rosedale Records
ROSE008 | 2015-09-14
It is already time to release ep number 8 on Rosedale Records which marks the first anniversary of the label. This time, Italian duo, Beatz to Play (Nicola Nisi & Pasquale Buscicchio) make their debut.
The talented pair have delivered two exceptional tracks for us and on remix duties this time round we have Karim Sahraoui (aka Djinxx) and Colophon.
The original mix of 'Destination Two' is a macro view of that moment one's point of view changes. It is a tense affair and opens with a galloping but anxious synth line. A deep underlying bassline then carries the track further adding to the neurosis. The percussion slowly evolves from one place to another reinforcing the idea of a changing mind until at the end, we 'arrive' at a new perspective.
'Atlas' is a low orbit slingshot around the Earth. Its rapid percussion is close enough to the ground to feel a corporeal sense of pace whilst the ascending melody is high enough in altitude to see beyond horizons and out to the heavens.

With it's animated and inspiriting arpeggios, crisp and propulsive percussion, Karim's superb remix of 'Destination Two' exemplifies the excited anticipation of nearing the end of a journey to a fresh and lively place.
Estroe had a release on Karim's label Mezzotinto back in 2008 and is delighted now to have him on board with ROSE008.
Colophon released previously on ROSE003 and has now presented a great remix of 'Atlas'. His fluid and spacious interpretation takes us over cumulonimbus clouds and across the cerulean sky with its deep reverbs and sweeping barometrical pads. A far off 303 rumbles through the piece and occasionally crackles like distant lightning.
