New Zealand born with Maori heritage, Music is part of the culture.
Seeing family sing and play instruments was an eye opener to musical expression, but it would be seeing a DJ at age 11 on TV using turntables that would spark a life long interest.
At that point an obsession began that would continue for the next 30 plus years.
With past releases on many different Record labels under different pseudonyms (Sean Murray, Mr Hooky, Soulfoundation) these were all different stages of a life long search for.
Hooky leans on a lot of musical influences. From dub various styles of disco and house and Hip hop.
