Groove Monkey started spinnin' records in 1982. Completely other times with 12"vinyl records only and plenty of time to play the whole track and keep people dancing. There was no high tech DJ equipment available and turntable skills were key! Today that retro groovy disco sound is back! Whether you call it funky house, nu-disco or just disco.... From his passion for all that well known disco tracks he has a huge drive to keep them alive by releasing modernized versions without losing the groovy vibes that make people dance. The released tracks and performances from Groove Monkey are spot on it! With the growing interest in this kind of dance music the attention for Groove Monkey as a DJ is growing really fast. He is convinced that recognizability is key! It's interesting to see and experience that not only the older generation knows all the well known disco tracks from the 70's and 80's.
